The best and most authentic German food. We make the trek as many times as we can in the summer. Always worth it.

Great atmosphere, friendly and patient staff. Even met the owner Greg Howland, gracious and solicitous. Excellent Maine seafood dishes as well as German fare. The cleanest steamers we have ever eaten!

Not a fan. If you have to dine indoors, decor and ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Outdoors is okay. Food is good.

Great experience. Staff/Owners were very friendly, food was served in good portion sizes and tasted great! Atmosphere is your typical down east pub. Loved it! Highly recommend!

Great food, friendly wait staff, and good with allergies–the waitress double checked about which things were okay for whom. Highly recommend the schnitzel, crab cakes, and fried shrimp. Would go again, 100%!

Super casual with a German flare. But who is thinking German food when you can smell the ocean? Do yourself a favor and start with the lobster Rueben and branch out from there. Wait isn't usually a problem.

One of my very favorite places to eat in Maine. The food is decadent in a very casual setting. Nice selection of beer and traditional German food along with all the Maine coastal goodies. Nice patio to hang out on! We always stop here on the way down to the light house in Port Clyde!

If you were just to drive by and not stop you would make a terrible mistake. The Cedar grilled haddock with lobster and lemon tarragon sauce was excellent!!! Beautifully presented! The server Kyle was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu we will be back!

Cute little place. Lobster rolls rock. Fried clams are great too. The German menu is fun different and good. Decor is busy but works for this place.

Been to this little gem twice now- had an authentic German prime rib - my wife had the scallops. Today I tried the clam basket and their original clam chowder while my wife had the Philly cheese steak! Everything was fantastic. Both times. Very warm and inviting atmosphere and reasonable prices. The wait staff was excellent as well. Nice area for a drive too.

Reliably better than decent food.

Come back here every year. Food consistently good and reasonable prices. Love their take on clam chowder. They use steamers and plenty of them. Broth is thin and flavored with herbs. I've never left disappointed.

I think this is one of Maine's best keept secret,the food is delicious and the people are great, service second to none.wife and I will be back.oh ps the owner is nice guy.

Four of us had lunch at the Happy Clam and thoroughly enjoyed it. The steamers are to die for, fried clams are delicious, as well as the beef tips and prime rib sandwich. We all had Bloody Marys and they were worthy too. This place is worth the drive from Camden or Rockland or wherever. We plan to go back again while we are in Maine.

Excellent German cuisine (we've heard that's what they do best) - we had the Jaegar Schnitzel. Exquisite lobster bisque, and the blueberry cake was magnificent. Highly recommend!

Food was great. Service was ok as she was the only one taking care of everyone. The other server scheduled couldn't work because of family emergency. She still did a great job, we just waited a while for drinks and food. We understood with her having 2 large rooms of people to serve.

Excellent service, nice outdoor seating area. Mussels and lobster rolls were yummy.

It doesn't look like much on the outside but the Food is Great as well as the Service! the perfect stop along the way. Can't wait to go back !! soooon

Lobster yum!! They have great prices, great food, and amazing hospitality. Great atmosphere! All of the seating is outside, they have citronella candles to keep the bugs away. The lobster was so good!! Check this place out!

The Happy clam is run by the rudest man I have ever met, his name is Greg and he thinks he can do no wrong. He walks into other peoples kitchens and starts yelling at him. Everyone who has ever worked for him says he doesn’t know how a restaurant works and he just gets in the way.

Authentic German food. ....steaks & seafood! We also have prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights! We have homemade german desserts. ....a full bar.....21 taps.....a nice selection of wines and an atmosphere that will keep you coming back!

Go here when you arrive in tenants harbor, ME. Seriously, this should be one of your first stops. Excellent food portions, reasonable prices, and the folks here are easy going and willing to help you. The food was so good here that we dined here twice in one trip!We recommend the surf and turf. We received a full lobster with a very generous portion of steak. Alongside this, we also recommend the lobster mac and cheese. Needless to say, we will dine here again when we visit Maine again. The fettuccine alfredo with shrimp was excellent as well. Greg, thank you for taking the time to come and speak with us; it made us feel like we were at home.

The Prime Rib is juicy, tender and generously portioned! The owners are friendly and will ensure you have the best time! A must-visit every summer! for anyone living in or visiting Midcoast Maine.
